How to cook Nida's Sisig?

Sisig is a Filipino dish usually eaten as a viand (with rice) or as a side food when drinking. It is made of chopped pork meat, liver and ears, ginger, pepper, and soy sauce. To cook it, sometimes vary depending on which province in the Philippines you came from. Some sautee it in onions on a pan before transferring it on a sizzling plate, then added with mayonnaise, calamansi, egg and bird eye chili. Some, mix it all before transferring it on the sizzling plate with melted butter. The taste is savory with ginger spice, chili, and zest of calamansi.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams Nida Sisig
  • Cooking Oil
  • Onions (minced)
  • Soy Sauce to taste
  • Mayonnaise
  • 1 medium egg
  • Chilli pepers (as desired)
  • Calamansi (as desired)

Instructions

  • Thaw the meat.
  • Heat cooking oil in a pan.
  • Sautee minced onions until soft.
  • Add the thawed meat.
  • Add a desirable amount of soy sauce to taste. Mix well.
  • Transfer to a sizzling plate or serving plate. (Optional)
  • Top with mayonnaise, and egg.
  • Add chili and calamansi puree (Philippine lemon) as desired.
